I just had my interview for permanent residency yesterday. My case was approved and my passport was stamped, but then it was cancelled later in the interview because the officer noticed that the file was a "T" or temporary file. I had started another residency process a few years ago (but never actually went for the interview), so there is a previous application on file for me which the USCIS has to locate. Until they locate this file and put it together with my current file, my case is still pending and I have no idea how long this will hold up the process. Could you please advise me as to what will happen now and how much longer the process may take? Also, I inadvertently put an address of residence for my country of origin on the current application which is different than the one I had put on the previous application (it has been a few years and I forgot which address was correct). Do you think this minor discrepancy could cause any problems for my case approval?
