Hello everyone

I just got married. I just put the paperwork in to immigrate my husband and my stepson. (the last 3 weeks)
They are from Mexico and came into this country legally with a border crossing card and the I-94.

My question is his I-94 is ready to expire on Sept 28th. Technically is he still legal here if we do nothing until we hear back from Chicago about the immigration process.
Also we wanted to go up to San Francisco in Oct. this requires that his I-94 be current which it wont be, can he still go.???

I am an American citizen I was Naturalized back in 2003.

My other question is who responds to these questions, just regular people, immigration officers, lawyers this is all new to me.
