I've got a question: What is a USCIS security check? How long does it take? I would like to apply for a green card, but I would like to know how long it takes.

The Security Check is a part of the application process done by the FBI. You do not do this, but USCIS works with the FBI to check your background. To apply for a green card will take you some months once all the applications are submitted and you have done your fingerprinting and picture.

I recommend you begin the process ASAP if you can.
