Hello everyone I am very new to immigration issue as my girlfriend only opened up to me in regard to her status days ago. We live in S Florida.

My girlfriend came to the US from Canada as a minor under her parents visa. She is now 29 and has overstayed and is Out Of Status we assume. All while this going on she works full time and has also has obtained a masters degree and purchased two homes. She has even received a city grant for renovations to one of the homes. Obviously the applications for all of these achievements had questions regarding legal residency which were answered misleadingly.

My question is considering the the real estate purchases and city grant, could she possibly be in 'criminal' trouble? Also, would getting married to a US citizen help reduce possible consequences she may face?
