As a United States citizen, I have become extremely concerned with the number of foreign students coming into our country and taking opportunities away from United States citizens applying for colleges and universities. I would like to know how many student visas are granted every year. Does anyone know that? I know that there is a limit of 65,000
H-1B visas allowed every year, but is there a limit for
F-1 visas? These foreign students are affecting the educational balance in the United States compared to the rest of the world. AS a United States
citizen it is important to focus on providing opportunities to our college bound USA citizens and not foreign nationals!!
If we intend to get back to taking the lead in education around the world, especially in the math and science arena, it must start with our own citizens and not foreigners! Every other country and government have always focused on their own citizens first for almost everything including education. The United States is the only country that has really lost sight of that particular issue over the past couple of decades. I am from a town outside Boston where our local high schools' top 10 students did not get into their college of choice! I would almost guarantee that the foreign students were accepted instead! This makes me very angry!!!!
It is my intention to pursue and investigate the statics surrounding the growing increase of foreign born students taking college slots over US college bound citizens. Can anyone help me with some statistics?
