My Wife came to US on Dec 6th 2006 on L2 Dependant Status.

She applied for EAD and got her EAD on Mar 28, 2007

She started working on L2 EAD status to a company

Meanwhile she has applied for H1 and her petition got approved and is valid from October 1st.



We would like to know



1) If we want to move from L2-EAD to H1 do we need to apply for Change of Status (COS) ?

2) Our H1 Consultant is telling that we no need to fill any Application as such and we can start working on H1

3) If that is the case what happens to the L2 EAD status?

4) Though H1 is valid from October 1st, can she still work on L2 EAD status?

I'm currently living in Kentucky and I was also granted a L-2 due to my husband's intercompany transfer. I would like to know what's the meaning of "EAD"... Thank you
