I own a company overseas and I take up project management contracts from a US-based company (Company A) part time. I am the main person who work on those projects. However, I will start on my research at University B as a
J-1 researcher in the USA next month. Given the J-1
employment restrictions, will I be able to continue my contract work with Company A while I'm physically in the USA? Will I get Company A into any trouble if I do receive payment from our contract through the foreign registered company while I, the principle at the company, am in the US? What can we do to continue the contractual relationship without breaking any laws?
