> Reverse Issue, What options are available when the immigrant is the abuser
When associating the words abuse and immigration together, it usually is the immigrant that's abused. My friend has the opposite situation. Her immigrant son is abusing her.

Her son arrived in the US about a year ago via a family green card. She is a US citizen, and has been trying for several years to bring him over from China. The intent was to get him a college education and settled in a better life. He is now 21.

Unfortunately, this son of hers has turned out to be a con artist. He lies. He has no other intention other than to bleed his mother of her finances. He is verbally abusive, and clever enough not do anything illegal (to the best of my knowledge), or physically abuse her.

It is my understanding that my friend is trapped in this situation for ten years. This is a sick situation that needs to be resolved. Is there any recourse she can take?

I have had some of the same problems myself. So, I know what you are going through. My daughter has a family green card too and she is nothing but trouble. The thing is that it is not an immigration issue any more, it is a society and police matter if things get out of hand. I recommend that you give this advice to your friend:
- write down the time, place and what happened every time there is an issue
- consult with local authorities about sending the son to treatment or schools outside the home.

I am not sure if there is a happy ending in the near future to this problem, so all I can recommend is to make the best out of a bad situation.
