I have been dating an illegal immigrant from Mexico for over a year. And know we want to get married but here is my problem. I am leaving for basic training for the Air Force in a few months, and we cant get married until I get back. I am afraid that the military wont let us get married because she is here illegally. She also has a three year old daughter who was born in Mexico. When we went to an attorney he told us that there is nothing he can do because when she was sixteen she was caught by immigration at the border. She claims they told her it was just a warning, and if she comes back try a different way. My attorney did suggest to have her fingerprinted to make sure she has no record. If her fingerprints come up positive she will never be able to get papers her entire life. Does anyone know if there are ways around this problem, or know if it will be easier for us when I am in the military.
