Ok...I wonder if somebody could shed some light on this for me....
I have been married for 9 years, my daughter is 8, born in this country. I initially came from Poland on
J-1 visa (where the 2 year rule does not apply)
Got married before that expired...filed some paperwork ,the first form (do not remember of hand what number that was) got approved.
Filed the app for
permanent residency last August.
Everything was dandy. I got my fingerprints and so on..
medical...went to the interview .The officer tells me that the doc did not fill out the immunization
form correctly...advised me to take it back to him and have him fix it...(plus adds the -provide the proof from him that he is a civil surgeon note...laughing and telling me-do not worry about that...that is just to freak him out)
She actually gives me her cell number and tells to call her when I mail that off...so she can get me approved faster.
So I go back to the doc...tell them what the problem is...and tell them how to fix it. Get the form back (sealed envelope of course) and call the officer...let her know it is on the way.
Then wait and wait for my obvious approval...
well...guess what?
get a letter of denial...because the immunization supplement was not filled out properly AGAIN. Also...i have not provided the proof that the doc is the certified civil surgeon (mind you- he is still on the website...under certified sc list)
I cannot appeal.....I can apply for the reopening of the case within 30 days (paying yet another 585 dollars) I am not authorized to work anymore...hence I have to give up my job .I have talked to one of those free lawyers...(the only one that WOULD talk to me over the phone) He said to call the docs office and have them type up the letter saying they made a mistake, since that is the only chance of having any grounds to have my case reopened.
The doc's office says that will comply.. supposedly the letter will be ready tomorrow.
has anybody been thru this??? I feel completely lost and helpless...
I have not done anything wrong at all....I have had a
social security card since I entered in 1999...have not worked until filing my
I-485. My husband and daughter are both citizens. I am totally scared...feel like they are
going to come and get me shipped off any moment now.
I work at a gas station and have made my boss aware of the situation when
I got that letter...he is still choosing to keep me on...for a few days a week...and of course I am being very paranoid about it.
Can anybody provide any insight to this? or help me map out whatever next steps I need to take?
Thanks for listening
