> Been Away For More The A Year...
Hello

I am a green card holder, married to a U.S. citizen, I've been outside the country for more that a year now and I am about to go back.
I don't have a re-entry permit, I am currently in Italy and I would like to know if there is anything that I should/must do at the embassy or in the U.S.A. (my wife is there) in order to go back.

I think that you will need to present a sufficient evidence of a reasonable excuse of why you have been outside of the country for longer than a year. The border office might ask you to explain or he might not. Also you might be able to file a petition for a returning permanent resident if they will not let you back in, but you will need to show that you have maintained your residency in the US and that you paid taxes in the US. But I am not an attorney and this cant be taken as a legal advice in any matter, it is just an expression of my opinion, you should consult an immigration attorney immediately, so he can advice you accordingly.
